Clean water.
Bright futures.
Real change.

Somewhere right now, a child is walking miles for dirty water. A family is going to bed hungry. Your donation — however small — changes that today.

Our Story

Small trust.
Serious purpose.

Moosa Trust UK was founded on a simple conviction: that ordinary people, giving what they can, can change extraordinary things. We are a lean, values-driven trust — no big offices, no expensive overheads, no corporate machinery. Just three trustees who believe deeply in Amanah (trust), Ihsan (doing things well), and Rahma (mercy to all people).

That belief shapes everything. We use Gift Aid to cover running costs — or trustees cover them personally — so that when you give £10, £10 reaches someone who needs it. Not £7. Not £8.50. All of it.

إِذَا مَاتَ الإِنْسَانُ انْقَطَعَ عَنْهُ عَمَلُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ ثَلَاثَةٍ

"When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: a continuing charity, knowledge that benefits, or a righteous child who prays for them."

— Sahih Muslim

Sadaqah Jariyah — reward that never ends
Where Your Money Goes

Three causes.
One purpose.

Every donation is directed into one of three areas where the need is greatest and the impact is lasting.

Clean water well project
Thirst Relief

Clean Water & Wells

785 million people live without clean water. A well doesn't just quench thirst — it ends hours of daily labour, cuts child illness, and keeps girls in school. Every well you fund is a Sadaqah Jariyah flowing long after you're gone.

Education and schools initiative
Bright Futures

Education & Schools

A child without education is a future locked away. We fund classrooms, supplies, and teacher training in underserved communities — because Iqra was the first word revealed, and knowledge is the most enduring gift.

Emergency aid and poverty relief
Hardship Relief

Poverty & Emergency Aid

When crisis strikes — flood, famine, or sudden loss — families need help now, not in six months. We move quickly, act with dignity, and stay for the long term. Because the Prophet ﷺ said: the best of people are those most beneficial to others.

"The best charity is giving water to drink."

— The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ · Ahmad

How We Work

Not just words.
How we actually operate.

Amanah — Trust

You'll never wonder where your money went. Every donation is tracked, every project is documented, and every penny is accounted for. We report back because you deserve to know.

Ihsan — Excellence

We don't cut corners on the people we serve. We choose partners carefully, vet projects rigorously, and hold ourselves to the standard of someone who knows Allah is watching. Because He is.

Rahma — Mercy

Need has no religion or nationality. We serve every human being who is suffering — with the same dignity, care, and urgency — because that is what our faith demands of us.

Who's Responsible

Real people.
Real accountability.

We put our names to this. Three trustees — personally responsible for every decision, every pound, every project. No hiding behind a logo.

Questions

Honest answers.
No waffle.

If something isn't answered here, ask us directly. We'll always give you a straight answer.

We are currently an unincorporated charitable trust with income expected to remain below £5,000 in 2026. If the Trust exceeds the registration threshold (£5,000 annual income), trustees will take appropriate steps to register with the Charity Commission.
Every penny donated goes directly to beneficiaries and charitable projects. Operational costs (minimal administrative expenses, banking fees, website hosting) are covered via Gift Aid or, if higher, separately by the trustees personally — ensuring your full donation creates impact.
Your donation goes directly to charitable causes: clean water projects, education initiatives, and poverty relief. We are currently setting up online donations via Givey (with automatic Gift Aid) and bank standing orders — both coming soon, insha'Allah.
Our trustees carefully review needs and opportunities, prioritising relief of immediate hardship alongside sustainable initiatives in education and clean water. We communicate all major decisions and provide regular updates to donors on fund allocation and project outcomes.
Donation receipts are currently provided via WhatsApp. When you make a donation — whether cash or via a collection box — a trustee will send you a confirmation receipt through WhatsApp with the amount, date, and reference. Once online donations are live, you'll also receive automatic email confirmations.
Yes! If you're a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid allows us to claim an additional 25p for every £1 you donate at no extra cost — significantly increasing your impact. Gift Aid will be handled automatically once our Givey page is live. In the meantime, speak to a trustee via WhatsApp for Gift Aid on cash donations.
We provide regular updates to donors after every project, showing funds deployed, real stories from beneficiaries, and transparent breakdowns of how donations created change. You can also visit our projects page to see our current and completed initiatives.
Standing orders are coming soon — we are currently in the process of setting up our bank account. Once the account is live, we'll share the details so you can set up a regular monthly donation directly from your bank. Watch this space, insha'Allah.
We are not yet set up to accept Zakat — this is the next step in our journey. We hope to be in a position to accept Zakat donations in the near future, insha'Allah. We do accept Sadaqah and Sadaqah Jariyah donations. Please consult with a qualified Islamic scholar for specific guidance on Zakat distributions.
Absolutely. Many donors give Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity) in memory of loved ones. Just let us know via WhatsApp or the contact form, and we'll acknowledge this appropriately in our records.
Yes. Message us on WhatsApp to arrange a cash donation. We maintain location logs for collection tins, count cash with two trustees present, and bank deposits promptly. All cash donations are recorded in our donations register.
We're a small trust and always appreciate offers of support. While we don't have a formal volunteering programme yet, we welcome help with fundraising, community outreach, and spreading the word. Get in touch via WhatsApp or the contact form and let us know how you'd like to help.
We currently focus on monetary donations to maximise impact and ensure funds reach the right projects efficiently. If you have goods you'd like to donate, please get in touch via WhatsApp and we'll do our best to advise or connect you with an appropriate organisation.
We work where need is greatest. Our first project is a water well in Sri Lanka. We partner with established charities who have experience and infrastructure on the ground — leveraging their expertise to ensure effective, dignified delivery of aid across communities lacking access to clean water and quality education.
